Meet Natalie Choong… a Monat hair care sales consultant currently on furlough from her catering sales role. She’s redefining her life by translating her tenacious sales skills into a revenue streaming outlet in the beauty category. This proud Latina boss lady followed her intuition to try something new and isn’t looking back. Read on for our interview with Natalie to learn how had her light bulb moment to entertain the idea of starting her own business within the beauty/hair industry.

H&F: Describe your career prior to furlough.

Natalie: I am the Senior Catering Sales Manager at the Hilton Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria for the past three years.

H&F: How has your career prepared you for what's next?

Natalie: Working in sales, you learn to build relationships and listen to your guests to ensure you deliver exceptional service! No matter what you are selling, relationships are very important.

H&F: Tell us about how you’ve redefined yourself.

Natalie: Four months after being furloughed, I realized I need to redefine myself with what I knew best…selling and relationships. Through Monat, I was able to offer a product that would help my customers feel and look their best while building a relationship with all of them!

H&F: How did your project get started?

Natalie: After 30, 60, 90 days, the economy was not getting any better, reemployment was not my best friend and then it really hit me. Am I really going back to work?? I remember sitting on the couch on July 9th and was scrolling through my social media. Then I saw my colleague mention she wanted to grow her team so others could also make some extra money. A lightbulb went off! During the past few months I absolutely fell in love with my hair density, growth, and shine and why not tell all my friends about it AND make some extra money?! So then I joined and my story begins.

H&F: How are things going for you?

Natalie: As of today, I have ranked up to an Associate Market Builder and not stopping there! I’m here for the long haul to get all my friends, family, and previous co-workers living their best, healthy, beautiful life!

H&F: Tell us something unique about your brand.

Natalie: The community is remarkable! From Market Partners to the CEO, they are always about gratitude and giving back. It not just about selling a product, it's about helping others be the best they can be.

H&F: What are your business goals for the future?

Natalie: I would love to grow with Monat and become a mentor to help with other leaders like me! The company’s potential is remarkable and I want to be able to share it with everyone I know.

H&F: What would you like to share with someone searching for their Light Bulb Moment?

Natalie: When 2020 was proven to be a downfall for so many people in their professional career, I am happy I didn’t give up hope! I’m happy that I looked at a bigger picture and turned it around. And I truly believe we all can do it too. When one door closes, another one opens right? Believe in it! You’ll be surprised what’s on the other side of the door….it can be the “win-win situation” you’ve been waiting for!
